Principal's Message

Dear Staff, Teachers and all Stakeholders,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the principal of Vine Street Education Center and this school community. My name is Dr. Sharon Harris. I come to this Early Education Center with over 30 plus years of experience in education. Previously I have taught preschool and have held the position of Director in preschool settings. I have a Bachelor in Education, a Master's in Education/Leadership and Change, and two Doctorate degrees. I am looking forward to an enriched and exciting journey as I get to know the students, staff, parents, and community members associated with this center. My greatest capability as an educator is cultivating and sustaining strong working relationships with all members of the school community.

My vision is to ensure that all students achieve their highest potential in learning. Previously, I have been successful in demonstrating and implementing instructional leadership by supporting teachers and initiating fresh ideas to help improve their instruction. I will continue to demonstrate and implement instructional leadership here at this center. This will happen by first modeling and attending professional development meetings/training in order to stay current and relevant concerning Early Childhood Education as it evolves. There will be weekly teacher meetings to brainstorm ideas that will help to promote students learning and ensure growth. Parents will receive updates on their child's progress and growth during teacher/parent conferences a well as through the use of technological tools.

My philosophy concerning children is every child deserves to have a safe and fun environment to learn. I look forward in meeting each one of you.
